Level up your Big Giant Quilted Bow (made from the LindseyGraceCreates pattern) with Teresa Walker of The Crafty Nuisance! In this virtual 6-hour workshop, you'll learn techniques to make assembling the "basic" bow easier, including binding the edges to avoid turning the panels right-side out. (Plus you'll be able to translate those binding skills to other projects well beyond the bow!) AND Teresa will teach different ways to add fairy lights and other embellishments to make your bow extremely festive!

This workshop will focus on the techniques themselves as opposed to completing an entire bow during the 6 hours. The goal is for you to "play without hesitation" and practice on scraps during the workshop. We'll discuss how to implement each concept into a bow you can make after class. Because of this structure, some items on the supply list are optional. You can attend the workshop with minimal supplies (and preparation) and still learn the different skills for an actual bow.

Shortly after registering, you'll receive a 10% off code with your Zoom confirmation so you can stock up on your bow-making supplies! Teresa will also send a "welcome" email reminding you what needs to be prepped beforehand, what supplies to bring, how the day will be structured, and where you can find bow supplies on TFCS website. Scroll to the end of this product listing for the supply list and other details.

NOTE: We strongly recommend taking the "basic" workshop before taking the "level up" workshop. The "level up" workshop refers back to valuable information and techniques only taught during the "basic" workshop. We will not have time to teach those techniques during this workshop. To sign up for the next "basic" workshop, click here.

VIRTUAL WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend the workshop, you can request to transfer your registration to an upcoming workshop or get credit toward a future TFCS Sweet Stitchers workshop. No refunds will be given unless TFCS/instructor needs to cancel.

Supply List:

  • 2 fat quarters each basted and quilted to a layer of batting (use leftover batting pieces zigzagged together from previous bows)
  • 3-4 2.5" x WOF strips (great way to use up random leftover binding strips)
  • Chenille size 24 needle
  • 40wt thread (Isacord or Glide works well)
  • 90/14 topstitch needle
  • Sewline Trio pencil or equivalent
  • Sewline glue stick or Elmer's washable glue stick
  • Fabric clips (at least 20 clips)
  • Other "usual" sewing, cutting, marking tools and supplies
  • Optional:
    • Battery-operated fairy lights (at least two 16.4ft sets of lights for a 1yd bow and two 40+ft lights for a 1.5yd bow)
    • Appropriately sized eyelets and installation tools for your chosen fairy lights (Teresa will show you how to add fairy lights with AND without the use of eyelets.)

Note: The "welcome" email referenced earlier will include additional information about sourcing the fairy lights and eyelets, and how to cut panels for a one-yard version of the bow so you can try these level-up techniques on a slightly smaller bow. Email Teresa if you have any questions!

Fabrics are sold by the half yard unless otherwise stated in the description above. Please verify that you’ve selected the correct quantity for your needs.
